CR-200 Wireless LPR Corrosion Rate Sensor
Battery-Powered Corrosion Monitoring with No Wiring
The Pyxis CR-200 measures how fast the system’s metal is corroding, as it happens, with no power or signal cables. It runs on a battery for up to a year and connects by Bluetooth® to the uPyxis® app on a phone, tablet or PC.
It uses linear polarisation resistance (LPR) on a pair of test electrodes made from the metal of interest, and reports the general corrosion rate in mils per year (mpy; 1 mpy = 0.0254 mm per year). It also measures electrochemical noise, which gives an index of localised corrosion (pitting).
Monitor Many Points, Collect the Data Later
With no wires to run, a CR-200 can be fitted at each test point in a system. The sensor stores up to six months of readings (at one every 30 minutes), which are downloaded wirelessly as a CSV file with the uPyxis® app.
Signal Processed Inside the Sensor
The LPR signal is conditioned, amplified and digitised inside the sensor body, and the reading is corrected for the water’s conductivity, up to 10,000 µS/cm.
For a permanent wired connection to a controller, PLC or DCS, see the CR-300 Wired LPR Corrosion Rate Sensor.
