FS-100 Series Ultrasonic Flow Meters
The Pyxis FS-100 series are compact inline meters for small flows, from 0 to 3,000 mL/min, read to 1 mL/min. Ultrasonic pulses are timed travelling with the flow and against it; the gap between the two gives the flow rate, so nothing moves in the liquid path to wear or stick.
Each meter shows the flow rate and running total on its own colour screen, and sends the flow to a controller, PLC or DCS over 4–20 mA and RS-485 Modbus. A built-in temperature sensor corrects the reading as the liquid warms or cools.

Measures and Controls
Besides measuring, the meter can hold a flow you set. In flow-control mode its second 4–20 mA output drives a regulating valve, and a built-in PID loop opens or closes it until the flow matches the setpoint. If the flow can’t reach the setpoint within two minutes, the screen and status light turn red.

Sample & Chemical Flow
Inline sensors and analysers on cooling and process water read correctly only with a steady sample flow. The FS-100 shows that flow at a glance, reports it to the controller, and with a regulating valve holds it steady when the line pressure changes. The FS-101 measures dosed chemical solutions, confirming what a dosing pump actually delivers; on a pulsing diaphragm pump, a pulsation damper ahead of the meter steadies the reading.

Mounting
- Fit the meter upright, with the liquid flowing upwards through it.
- ½” NPT inlet and outlet. Inlet pressure 0.5 – 6.9 bar.
- To panel-mount, drill two 4.2 mm holes using the meter’s mounting plate as a template and fix with M4 screws.
Wiring
- Red: 24 V DC +
- Black: 0 V and 4–20 mA −
- White: 4–20 mA + no. 1, flow rate (default 4 mA = 0, 20 mA = 3,000 mL/min)
- Green: 4–20 mA + no. 2, regulating valve only – if unused, leave unconnected and tape the end
- Blue: RS-485 A
- Yellow: RS-485 B
- Silver: earth
Modbus defaults: address 95, 9600 baud, even parity.
Calibration
Zero the meter with the pipe full and the liquid still. To check the span, run liquid into a beaker for a set time, weigh it, and enter the weight on the slope calibration screen (1 g of water is 1 mL).
