LS-200 Ultrasonic Level Transmitter
The Pyxis LS-200 sits on top of a tank and measures the liquid level from above with ultrasound, so no part of it touches the liquid. It reads distances from 0.1 m to 2.7 m, to ±0.15% of the range, in open or closed tanks.
With nothing below the transducer face, there is nothing for sticky, dirty or scaling liquids to coat or jam – the usual reason floats, conductance probes and pressure sensors give up in chemical tanks. Enter the tank’s size in the uPyxis® app and it reports level and remaining volume as well as distance.
The level goes to a controller, PLC or DCS over 4–20 mA or RS-485 Modbus. Set-up is wireless over Bluetooth® 5.0 from a phone, or from a Windows PC with the MA-NEB USB adapter. It runs on 24 V DC.
Made for Chemical Tanks
The transducer face is PVDF and the housing polycarbonate, sealed to IP67. Built-in temperature compensation keeps the reading steady as the air in the tank warms and cools, and the electronics filter out electrical noise.

Chemical & Water Tanks
Use the LS-200 on chemical day tanks and bulk storage beside dosing pumps, on water and wastewater tanks, and on process tanks of any size. The controller can show stock on hand, warn before a tank runs low and tell you when to reorder, without anyone climbing up to dip the tank.
Key Features
- Non-contact: nothing in the liquid to foul or corrode
- 0.1 – 2.7 m range, ±0.15% of range, 0.5 mm resolution
- 4–20 mA and RS-485 Modbus outputs built in
- Bluetooth® 5.0 set-up and readings from the uPyxis® app
- Level, distance and remaining volume once the tank size is entered
- PVDF transducer and polycarbonate housing for chemicals
- Automatic temperature compensation
- IP67, mounts in a 1″ MNPT tank-top fitting
- 24 V DC, 2 W
- 3 m waterproof cable supplied, extensions up to 30 m
Mounting
- Screw into a 1″ bulkhead fitting on the tank top, pointing straight down at the liquid. If the top isn’t flat, use a self-aligning bulkhead fitting.
- Keep clear of the tank wall and of anything in the beam’s path, such as pipes, mixers or ladders.
- The first 10 cm below the face is a dead zone: the full level must stay at least 10 cm below the sensor.
- Not for tanks under vacuum.
Setting Up
In the uPyxis® app, enter the tank volume, the installation height (tank bottom to sensor face) and the full level height. The 4–20 mA output then reads 4 mA empty and 20 mA full. For horizontal or irregular tanks, ask CHEMTROL®.
Wiring
- Red: 24 V DC +
- Black: 0 V
- White: 4–20 mA +
- Green: 4–20 mA − (joined to 0 V inside the sensor)
- Blue: RS-485 A
- Yellow: RS-485 B
- Clear: shield, earth
Care
Wipe the sensor face with a soft cloth to keep it clean. The sound inside the beam can reach 165 dB: never point the sensor at anyone’s eyes.
