A Complete System on One Stand

A CHEMTROL® skid-mounted system arrives as one unit: the controller cabinet, sensors and flow cell, dosing pumps and pipework, fitted together on our own stainless steel skid. It is assembled in our workshop, so on site it only needs placing, connecting to the water, chemical and power, and commissioning.

We design and fabricate the skid ourselves, in 304 stainless steel, and size it so that our controller cabinets fit it exactly. The result is a neat, compact, freestanding system that looks good and is easy to service.

Built Around Our Cabinets

The cabinet sits at the top of the skid, at eye height, so the controller is easy to read and operate. We use either a polycarbonate cabinet with a clear door or a stainless steel cabinet, depending on the site, and the skid is made to match its size and fixing points.

Inside the cabinet: the controller, and often the dosing pumps, protected from the weather and from chemical splashes.

Everything in Its Place

Each system is laid out from the top down, so every part is easy to reach:

  • Controller cabinet at the top, with the dosing pumps inside or on a panel below it
  • Sample line and probe flow cell under the cabinet, where the sensors can be seen, cleaned and calibrated
  • Booster or feed pump on the base of the skid, low and stable
  • Back panels for valves, actuators and other equipment, fixed to the frame’s mounting holes

Systems We Build

  • Cooling towers: conductivity and bleed control, inhibitor and biocide dosing, PTSA fluorometer monitoring
  • Potable water: chlorine disinfection with free chlorine and pH monitoring
  • pH correction and wastewater: acid or caustic dosing for trade waste and process water
  • CO2 dosing: pH control with carbon dioxide

Every skid is built to suit the job: the controller, sensors, pumps and pipework are chosen for the site’s water and chemicals.

The Skid Frame

  • Material: 304 stainless steel throughout
  • Uprights: 38 mm square hollow section
  • Base and braces: 40 × 40 × 5 mm angle; splayed front legs with diagonal braces for a stable, freestanding unit
  • Size: 1,800 mm high, 600 mm wide, about 800 mm deep at the base
  • Mounting: rows of 8 mm holes at 100 mm spacing up both uprights, so panels and equipment can be fixed at any height, plus 14 mm mounting holes
  • Panels: removable panels for the cabinet, pumps and pipework
